Charlene and James taught English in China for two years. One year in Guilin city and another year in Hangzhou. Guilin was more remote and rural whereas Hangzhou was modern, westernised and very cosmopolitan. They have wonderful memories of their time there. They made many friends both in the expat community and in the Chinese community. In spite of the cultural differences they found the Chinese people to be very friendly and welcoming.
