10 000 Steps Challenge

2018 Cairns SDE 10 000 Step Challenge

Welcome to the Cairns SDE 10 000 Step Challenge 2018.

The Cairns SDE 10 000 Step challenge is starting soon (Friday 12th October) as part of Mental Health Week.  All staff, parents, students and relations of Cairns SDE are invited to sign up and get involved in our Coast to Coast Tournament.  The Cairns SDE Tournament will run for 6 weeks and teams will race each other down the east coast of Australia starting at Port Douglas and finishing in Hobart (3.2 million steps).  All you have to do to be involved is register online at the 10 000 Steps website.

We all get caught up in our work and forget to keep ourselves healthy, physically and mentally.  Data shows that people are great at self-sacrifice and will put work first at the expense of their own health.  The 10 000 Step Challenge is a fun and supportive way to begin looking after ourselves physically and mentally.

Some of you have been part of the challenge before will already be registered.  I ask that you use you EQ email to register.  This way, I will find you easily and be able to add you to your team and then your steps will become part of your team tally.  Teams consist of up to 10 people.  If you don't have a team, let me know and we will find you on.
