10 000 Steps Challenge

2019 Cairns SDE 10 000 Step Challenge

Join the Cairns SDE 10 000 step challenge for 2019!

We are combining the 10 000 step challenge with the White Ribbon Trek for Respect as a fun way to begin looking after ourselves both physically and mentally.  The challenge will run for 6 weeks and kicks off on Friday October 12 (Term 4 Week 1).

Each team's steps will be collated and recorded on a map in the A Block staffroom.  We begin in Cairns, cross the South Pacific, then make the virtual White Ribbon Trek for Respect along the Inca Trail in Peru, concluding at Cusco.  It will be a collective effort of all teams, contributing to this journey to do the distance of 17 million steps in total.

Students, teachers, families and staff are invited to get involved by registering your team of up to 10 people via the 10 000 steps website.  Please use your EQ email address and allocate a team captain to help you stay motivated and  record your daily steps online.

For more information, please view the flyer (PDF, 678 KB).

If you have any queries, please email Sally O'Brien or Ros Scott.
