Little Free Library

22/08/2014

Students in Year 5 have started a community project where they are creating a series of “Little Free Libraries” around the community.

The project involves setting up a “mini library” in a plastic tub, decorative bookcase or book house.   The whole idea is for people to “bring a book” and “take a book” at no cost.  It is to promote literacy within our community.   This is the website if you would like to see some examples of Little free libraries around the world go to the Little Free Libraries website.

Can you help?  We need all of those old books (for young and old) that are gathering dust on your shelves.  Magazines too. If you are willing to part with any book we would be very grateful.

Books can be dropped off at school or posted (if they aren’t too heavy!).

Many more books are needed to fill our first few libraries.  Start spreading the word so we can get this project off the ground.    Thank you for your help.  Keep checking back for updates on the project.
