Term 2 Week 2 Lessons

Dear Parents and Home Tutors,

Please note that some lessons will be cancelled on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (Week 2).  Teachers and teacher aides will be participating in professional development workshops with Dr Alison Davis. These workshops are aligned with this year’s Explicit Improvement Agenda of every student achieving a minimum of a C standard in English, mathematics and science at the approved curriculum level.

Teachers will advise you of how these workshops will affect your child/children’s lesson.

2016 QTAC

2016 brings a big change to how QTAC offers Year 12 students a tertiary placement.

Students will start receiving offers as early as 12pm, 18 November 2016, the day they finish school.

From this year onwards, if a student applies for a non-competitive course, there’s no need for them to wait until January for their offer.

They could receive their offer within days of applying.

Offers for competitive courses will still be made on major offer rounds. The first being 16 January 2017.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be sending out more detailed newsletters on what other changes are coming (as well as what’s staying the same).

So keep an eye on what we send you, and encourage other guidance officers/teachers to subscribe, so they too can keep abreast of what is a big year of change at QTAC.

Note: Offers for non-Year 12 students are made from 3 August onwards. But as already stated, Year 12 students will only start receiving offers once they finish Year 12.
