Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride
The Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride has raised over $850, 000 for school students throughout the past 16 years. In June 2013, over $80, 000 in funds was raised to support the Cairns School of Distance Education P&C and the Royal Children’s Hospital who received $7, 500. As this great ride also encourages local communities to get involved, many state schools along the ride route also benefited through profits made at the nightly bar facility.
How can I be involved?
Here are just a few options available to Cairns SDE families who are keen to support Cairns SDE’s one and only fundraising event of the year.
Register to ride.
Encourage your 'active' friends to take part.
Donate, collect or seek prizes to be used at the event.
Cheer on the riders as they ride across Cape York.
If you would like to be involved in the 2015 event or have a question about how it all works, contact Event Co-ordinator Steve Corrie on 0439 975 759 or email Steve Corrie.
Online registrations and fundraising are now open

Cairns School of Distance P&C is pleased to be able to offer our primary aged students with a wonderful new initiative; PEDALS!
So, what does 'PEDALS' stand for?
This enrichment program has been initiated using funds provided by the Cairns to Karumba Bike Ride. Its aim is to take presenters and performers to our students and provide them with new experiences and opportunities.
For further information about 'PEDALS' please contact the program coordinator Steve Corrie on 0439 975 759 or via email.
