Background
CSDE is committed to ensuring that all students, no matter where they live, have access to a range of high-quality early learning, education and training programs.
RREAP
RREAP funds are available to assist CSDE and its school community to support and enrich a curriculum that is appropriate for the educational needs of geographically isolated state school students.
The school automatically receives funding to support projects that enhance their students' curriculum opportunities, supplement their school's access to information and communication technologies, and provide professional development to their staff and capability building opportunities for school community members to contribute towards improved educational outcomes for geographically isolated students.
Connellan
Connellan Airways Trust, a philanthropic non-profit, has been assisting individuals in Outback Australia for four decades. Their collaboration with distance education families aims to ensure that geographically isolated and rural children have access to their in-school events. The Trust provides a subsidise for accommodation for families living in remote areas.
Finance Committee
The school is required to have a committee to oversee the allocation of RREAP funds. The committee is responsible for identifying and approving activities to which the funding will be applied to.
This committee also identifies three events for which families will be able to also apply for funds to subsidise their accommodation from the Connellan Airways Trust. The committee submits the identified events to the Connellan Airways Trust by the end of February each year.
The committee is comprised of the Business Manager, the Parent Liaison Officer, the Deputy Principals Partnerships and P-6 and a representative from the P&C whose family is living remotely.
For 2026, the committee has agreed the RREAP travel subsidy will be $250 per family per identified event based on eligibility and attendance. This decision will ensure there is appropriate RREAP funding available for the increased GI family attendance at our events.
