Queensland Family & Child Commission conduct a Growing Up in Queensland survey every two years to hear from children and young people about the issues that matter to them. The Commission received more than 8,000 responses in 2020, giving them valuable information to share with many government departments, to use in their decision making.
The next of these surveys is scheduled for 2022, but given our recent experiences, the commission needs to hear from young people now. They are conducting a one-off Growing Up in Queensland: Living through COVID survey. It focuses on lockdowns and asks young people about how they would like government and community leaders to cater for and communicate with them during the pandemic.
The findings from this survey will help the Commission to understand their experiences and again, we will use the results to influence government and community groups which provide services, funding and support, ensuring the needs of young people are taken into account.
The survey can be found at www.qfcc.qld.gov.au/living-through-covid, and it will be available until Sunday 31 October 2021.
