The Young Language Ambassadors program is an annual event run by James Cook University to support and empower language teachers and students studying or teaching a foreign language in Queensland schools. Currently, in its tenth year, the conference was held at the JCU University Smithfield Campus, Nguma-bada. The event saw a variety of student and guest speakers, who spoke passionately, on a range of subjects from their own personal reasons for learning a language, to language acquisition during the pandemic, immigration, communication and the development and potential of artificial intelligence in teaching and acquiring another language.
The Cairns SDE attendees were delighted to participate in discussion with speakers and fellow students, as well as showcase the diverse range of languages learnt through Distance Education.
