We will be planting understorey trees in the Rainforest Regeneration Zone between C Block and F Block as part of Celebration Week activities on Monday 27 November, (Term 4, Week 9) 1.30-2.30pm straight after the swimming program, as part of the Sustainability Team initiative of creating increasing biodiversity on our School Grounds. This area will also become an outdoor classroom which will reflect the kind of space that staff and students would like to have for rainforest studies and recreation.
This Planting Workshop is open to all CSDE students, P-12 and is your chance to plant a plant for the future. There will be signage that students can fill out to show that they planted that understorey rainforest species.
The workshop is run by Sarah Lethbridge, Martin Kohler, science teachers from our school, and Sarah Sims from Treeforce who are supplying the understorey rainforest species to plant. The workshop will cover the best ways to plant species to give them the best start in life as well as why they are important to the rainforest and the planet.
