Cairns SDE champions trees
Cairns SDE welcomed local State member for Cairns, Michael Healy to help students plant native trees for its School Trees Day last term. It's all part of a strong, core message the school delivers on sustainability initiatives for students, and its community.
Jolene R, our Year 12 School Captain, said that trees were critical for “…reducing carbon in the atmosphere."
Her sister, Justene R, Year 7 student, said, “Planting trees creates more habitat for wildlife."
Maddi G, our Year 10 Sports Captain said that Schools Tree Day is crucial “for planting more natural resources."
Her sister, Lily-Grace McG, a Year 4 student said the trees are important to “beautify our school'."
