The Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS) is an exciting program for Year 10, 11 and 12 Indigenous students from across Australia that will expand their perspective on all things engineering, IT and tech. Over 5 days students will get an insight into what it's like to study and work in engineering, information technology and tech — and it may not be what you think.
VIEWS is for Year 10, 11 and 12 Indigenous students enrolled in Maths or Science subjects. There is no cost to participate. All expenses are covered; flights, accommodation at University College, food during the camp and university led social nights.
This program may be just what your students are looking for if they:
- Enjoy problem-solving and finding practical ways to overcome challenges
Like taking things apart to find out how they work
Are interested in the latest technologies
Want to use your skills to help shape the future
Students will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the work of engineers and IT specialists, meet Indigenous engineering professionals and discover pathways into engineering and IT. By the end of the week, they will have an appreciation of what an engineering and IT specialist does and how they can impact society and improve the lives of people across the globe.
